Herstat 2g Ointment provides effective relief from the symptoms of cold sores. Herstat can be used at any stage of a cold sore outbreak and provides highly effective relief from the symptoms of cold sores such as dry, chapped, sore lips. It also helps to soften the painful crusts (scabs) associated with cold sores.

The ointment is extremely moisturizing and thus provides an ideal environment which is highly conducive for healing.

The carefully balanced formulation contains our own purified bee propolis extract. Propolis is a natural substance produced by honeybees which they collect from plants and trees. Bees use propolis to keep their hives sterile and free from disease.

Dr Sosnowski’s bee propolis is gathered sustainably by trusted Manitoban honey farmers during the honey extraction period. We only use raw propolis from a well-defined region of Canada with unique flora. This is then refined in our own Propolis Refinery in Winnipeg, Manitoba using a process designed to retain the optimum levels of bioflavonoids and antioxidants.

The collection of propolis occurs as a normal aspect of the honey harvest, without harm to the bee colonies. Our community of beekeepers are committed to the health, protection and biosecurity of their bee populations.

Due to the presence of purified propolis extract within the ingredients we do not need to add potentially harmful parabens within our formulation as the propolis acts as an effective preservative in the ointment.

Herstat contains no sulphates, phthalates or harmful parabens, is also gentle on the skin and, unlike many OTC cold sore treatments on the market, has an extremely pleasant taste and aroma.

Herstat ointment works best when applied regularly, directly to the affected area every 2 hours, up to 5 times per day.

The propolis works alongside the other ingredients to help soften and moisturize your lips to aid the healing process. It acts as a preservative in the Herstat ointment which means we don't have to add parabens or sulphates.
